Today’s race had been a contest in a compact group for a long part of the route. The bypassings along Crosara and Possagno had been without any special problems. At this time there had been still 120 pilots in the race who were heading in direction of Vidor to reach the third turning point. But when the group had been flying above the area between the Asolo golf club and the industrial zone of Pederobba, about 80 riders weren’t able to keep height and were forced to land. Those who were able to continue the flight needed steady nerves, patience and experience. So only about 20 managed to regain height and were able to do the bypass above Vidor. With method and sangfroid they were able to continue with little displacements for regaining height until they reached Soligo. At this time they were ready to resume the race in direction to Revine to cross the finishing line.
Among the 20 pilots who finished today's task had been the world champions Honorin Hamard and Seiko Fukuoka Naville, but also a lot of athletes who had ‘til now not dominated any task. Among them are Argentinean Hernan Pitocco who is the winner of the day.
